Classes are 30mins instruction + 15 practice/warm-up 
Class1 has instruction then practiceClass2 is flipped with practice/warm up followed by instruction.

Classes Offered

Troy Skating Club Learn to Skate holds classes at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio. We offer classes and opportunities for all ages 3+ and all skill levels.

Learn to Skate Classes include:

-Snowplow Sam for ages 3-5

-Basic Skills 1 -6 ages 6+

-Hockey Skills ages 6+ or passed at least all levels of Snowplow Sam or Basic Skills 1

-Pre Freeskate & Freeskate 1-6 classes for those who have moved beyond the Basic Skills levels.

- Teen/Adult Skills for ages 13+: This class teaches the basics of skating to teenagers and adults. No skating experience is necessary.

Focused Skills Skating Classes

Hockey Power Skating + : Hockey Power Skating+: ages 6+ and Passed Hockey Skills 1. Helmet, Stick, and Gloves REQUIRED.
~Full Gear is encouranged but not required. There will not be pucks on the ice unless all participants have full gear.~
This is a class focusing on Edges, Power Skating, Stamina, Passing, Hand-Eye coordination and sportsmanship.
45min Class: On-Ice Warm-up + 30 mins on-ice skill work. 
- Must have minimum 3 Skaters pre-paid/registered to hold class

Ice Dance Class- for skaters who have reached Basic 6 or higher. This class focuses on the discipline of Ice Dancing. Learn the basics of Ice Dancing according to the Learn to Skate USA Ice Dance Curriculum. This specialty class will be 30 minutes of instruction that will focus on ice dancing. Instruction will cover the basics of ice dance, edges, timing to music, knee bend and posture. 

ASPIRE Class for skaters who have reached Basic Skills 4 or higher. The ASPIRE Program is set-up to create a team environment in skaters as well as enhance their techniques and focus on the skaters as a whole person not only an athlete. It will also be an opportunity for skaters to gain exposure to other styles/specialities of skating in our wide world of skating options! There are also parent meetings to help guide you through your first years as a skating parent, navigating how to buy skates, enter competitions, skater nutrition, what different skills look like and so much more!
