Phillip Cooke

Phillip Cooke started skating at the age of 11 and began coaching at age 16. Immediately he knew that coaching would be a part of him for the rest of his life. His goal in coaching is not only to instill a love for the sport, but also to provide excellent technique to his students. Most of Phillip’s skating career was spent in pairs skating, where he reached nationals twice and competed at the Junior level. After a career ending injury, Phillip went to Ohio University to earn a Bachelor’s degree. While at OU, Phillip created a flourishing Learn-to-Play hockey program, coached Mites through Varsity hockey, taught group lessons as well as private lessons to figure skaters and hockey players, and honed his skills in skate sharpening, blade mounting, and skate repair. Now, Phillip continues to teach private lessons to figure skaters as well as hockey players of all levels/ages and helps the next generation of skaters find their love for ice skating.
